Country guide

Hong Kong

Globally ranked universities, English taught throughout, and a graduate visa that allows a stay without a job offer first.

  • Study applications
  • Work visa, if you already hold an offer

Hong Kong has several universities ranked in the global top hundred, teaches in English throughout, and sits within a few hours of India. For finance, business and engineering it is a strong option that Indian applicants often overlook in favour of the UK.

The graduate arrangement is unusually generous. Graduates of a Hong Kong degree can apply to stay under the IANG scheme without needing a job offer first, which is a materially better position than most Asian destinations offer.

Housing is the constraint. Hong Kong has some of the most expensive residential property in the world, and university accommodation is limited and not guaranteed beyond the first year.

We cover Hong Kong for study applications. We do not run a job search here, though we will prepare your work visa file if an employer has already made you an offer.

What it costs

Our fee, and everybody else's

Two different piles of money. The second one is almost always larger, and a quote that does not mention it is not cheaper, it is less complete.

Starting prices for the services we run for Hong Kong. Every package has a published price and an exclusions list, and the scope is agreed in writing before you pay anything.

For people who are not eligible yet. A written plan for the twelve months that would make you eligible, and the work to get there.

    From₹9,000

    What is included

Already have a job offer?
We support work abroad for any country on this site, whether or not you already hold an offer. Where you have one, the work is the visa file. Where you do not, it is route selection, eligibility scoring and the search itself.

These are starting prices. Every package and every exclusion is on the pricing page, at the same figures quoted on a call.

Who is being hired

Occupations in demand in Hong Kong

The Talent List names professions the territory is actively trying to attract, and graduates of local degrees get an easier route.
  • Fintech and financial services
  • Data science and cybersecurity
  • Asset and wealth management
  • Naval and marine engineering
  • Innovation and technology roles

Read this before you plan around it
Being in a shortage occupation is not eligibility. It usually changes a salary threshold, a points score or a processing queue, and it never removes the need to qualify. These lists are also revised often, so treat this as where demand has been concentrated rather than a promise about today.

Health insuranceConfirm what the university scheme covers rather than assuming it is comprehensive.Usually required by the institution
Living costsFood and transport are reasonable. Accommodation is what makes Hong Kong expensive.High

Refusals

Why applications get refused, and what helps

Almost all of these are mechanical rather than substantive, which means almost all of them are preventable by somebody reading the file carefully before it is submitted.
  1. 01

Funds not evidenced to cover tuition and living costs

    What helps
Budget against real Hong Kong housing costs rather than a regional average.

  2. 02

    Sponsorship arrangements incomplete

    What helps
The university normally sponsors. Confirm they have submitted before assuming it is in progress.

  3. 03

Programme not on a recognised list

    What helps
Only qualifying programmes carry the student visa and the later IANG entitlement. Verify both before enrolling.

Immigration rules change constantly, and a page like this is a starting point rather than an authority. Every figure here is approximate and every claim links to the government source that governs it. Before you commit money to any of it, check the current position, or ask us to check it against your profile.

Comparing this against somewhere else

The cheapest sticker price is very often not the cheapest total. Every country page carries the same two cost tabs, so they can be compared line for line.
