Visa and documentation

Documentation support, from people who have read the actual rules

Most visa refusals we have read about are not caused by a weak profile. They are caused by a file that contradicts itself: a date on a payslip that does not match the reference letter, a bank statement that starts too late, a document scanned at the wrong size and quietly rejected by the portal.

You can do this yourself. Governments publish the criteria in full and most people are capable of reading them. What is hard is checking your own file with fresh eyes, in the order the officer will read it.

That is what this service is. Not advice about what to want, but a careful second pair of eyes on what you have built.

Regulated advice, and what we are not

Immigration advice and representation are regulated professions in Canada and Australia. Skillvelop is not licensed in either country, does not provide regulated immigration advice for them, and does not act as anyone's representative.

What we provide is documentation support, eligibility assessment against published criteria, and application preparation. You submit every application yourself, in your own name. Where your case needs regulated advice, we will tell you so and point you to a licensed practitioner, and we take no referral fee for doing that.

  • CanadaRegulated by The College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants, and provincial law societies.
  • AustraliaRegulated by The Office of the Migration Agents Registration Authority.

The distinction that matters

Preparing a file is not the same as advising on a case

The line is worth understanding, because it tells you what you are buying and it tells you when to go elsewhere.

What we do

  • Read the published criteria for your route and check your situation against them, in writing.
  • Build the document checklist and review every document you collect.
  • Complete forms alongside you on a shared call, so you know what is in your own application.
  • Tell you where your file is weak before you submit it.
  • Tell you when your case is beyond what we can properly do.

What requires a licensed practitioner

  • Advice on how the law applies to the particular facts of your case in Canada or Australia.
  • Acting as your representative with an immigration authority.
  • Appeals, judicial review, or responding formally to a refusal.
  • Anything involving a misrepresentation finding, an inadmissibility or a re-entry bar.
  • Any situation where your honest answer to a form question is complicated.

If you are in any of these situations, tell us on the assessment call and we will say so rather than sell you a package.

Fit

Who this is for, and who it is not for

It costs both of us less if you find out here.

This is for you if

  • Handling your own application and wanting the paperwork checked properly
  • Applying for a work, study or family route where you already know which one
  • Able to obtain your own documents, with time to do it in the right order
  • Comfortable submitting in your own name, because that is the only way we work

This is not for you if

  • Needing legal representation, an appeal, or regulated immigration advice for Canada or Australia
  • Wanting someone to submit an application under their name on your behalf
  • Looking for help presenting a document that is not accurate
  • Needing a decision within weeks

What you get

Every deliverable, numbered

This list is what goes on your scope document, made specific to your case. Nothing else is added to the price later.
  1. 01

An eligibility assessment against the published criteria

Your route's own published requirements, checked one by one against your actual situation, in writing.

  2. 02

A checklist built for your route, not a generic list

Ordered by how long each item takes to obtain, with the ones that expire flagged so you do not collect them too early.

  3. 03

A review pass on every document you collect

With written comments. Format, dates, naming, file size and the consistency of one document against another.

  4. 04

Forms completed alongside you on a shared call

So you know exactly what has been entered, and so you can answer for it later.

  5. 05

A cover letter that explains your file

Officers read hundreds of these. A short letter that says who you are and why the file looks the way it does saves them guessing.

  6. 06

A written note on the weak points in your file

Before you submit, not after a refusal. If something in your file is likely to be questioned, you should hear it from us first.

Prices

Two packages, both published

The cheaper one checks the file you build. The other one builds it with you and reviews it twice. Neither includes submitting anything on your behalf.

How it runs

Five steps, and the first two are free

You can stop after the written plan and take it elsewhere. Some people do.
  1. Free assessment

Thirty minutes on video. Which route, where you are in it, and whether what you need is documentation support or a licensed practitioner.

    30 minutes, no cost

  2. Written plan with your realistic odds

Eligibility against the published criteria, the gaps, and what each gap will take to close.

    Within 2 working days

  3. Agree the scope and the price

One page, naming the route, the applicant, the number of review passes and everything excluded.

    Same week

  4. We do the work with you

You collect, we review, you fix. Repeated until the file has no gaps left, then the forms and the cover letter.

    6 weeks to 3 months

  5. You apply

Two full review passes, then you submit in your own name. We tell you what to expect and how long it usually takes.

Then it is the government's decision

Limits

What we do not do

Written here rather than in a clause you find after paying.
  • Provide regulated immigration advice or act as your representative for Canada or Australia
  • Submit an application on your behalf or under our name
  • Handle appeals, judicial review or responses to a refusal
  • Prepare, alter or endorse any document that is not accurate
  • Guarantee a visa decision or a processing time
  • Contact a government department on your behalf

Before you start

What you need to have

If you are missing more than one of these, profile building is the cheaper first step and we will say so on the call.
  • A route you have already chosen, or an assessment call to choose one
  • The ability to obtain your own civil, educational and employment documents
  • A passport valid for the route you are applying for
  • Enough time before your intended travel date to collect documents in the right order
  • Accurate information. We will not work on a file we believe to be untrue
