What exactly am I paying for?

Professional time and work product: an assessment, a plan, documents prepared and reviewed, coaching, and an application file built to the standard the receiving body expects. Every package on this site names its deliverables and its price. You are not paying for an outcome, and you are not paying us for anything you pay a third party for. Government and embassy fees, test fees, university application fees, credential evaluation, translation and courier are paid by you, directly to the body that charges them. We never hold that money, mark it up, or take a percentage of it. Our fee is usually the smallest line in the total cost of going abroad, which is why every fee block also lists what the price does not cover. Question 2

How do you decide what goes on my shortlist?

From your profile, your budget and your target, and the reason each option is on the list is written next to it. If you disagree with the reasoning, you can say so and we will change it or defend it. We will also tell you when an option you like is a poor use of an application fee, and when a country you have not considered fits your profile better than the one you arrived with. Ask any consultant, including us, whether they hold a commercial arrangement with an institution they are recommending to you. Where that applies to us, it will be stated on the page where it could affect what we recommend, before you see a shortlist rather than after.

Question 3

Why are your prices on the website when nobody else does that?

Because a price you have to sit through a sales call to hear is a price that changes depending on how much the salesperson thinks you will pay. Our prices are the same for everyone. You can read them, compare them and decide against us without speaking to a single person.

Question 4

Can I get a refund?

Accepted Answer

Yes, under the conditions written in the refund and scope policy, which is a public page you can read before you pay. In short: a full refund within seven days of paying, as long as we have not yet delivered the first written piece of work for your package. After that, a partial refund based on which milestones we have already completed. Government fees, test fees and any third party charge you have already paid are never refundable by us, because we never held that money. A visa refusal, an admission rejection or a test score below your target is not a refund trigger. We are paid to prepare your file and to tell you the truth about your chances, not to control a decision that belongs to a government or a university.

What is not included in the price?

Government, embassy and biometrics fees. University and college application fees. Language and aptitude test fees. Credential evaluation fees. Certified translation, notarisation and apostille charges. Courier. Travel, accommodation, insurance and living costs. Every fee block on this site lists what that specific package excludes. Question 6

Can I pay in instalments?

The larger packages are already split into two payments. The first is due when you sign the scope document, the second when the first milestone is delivered. We do not offer education loans, credit or any product where a third party pays us and you repay them.

Question 7

What is the offer price shown next to each fee?

Accepted Answer

A reduced rate that applies to bookings confirmed before the closing date published on the pricing page. Both numbers are shown together on every fee block so you can see exactly what the reduction is. The scope, the deliverables and the refund policy are identical at either price. Nothing is removed from the service to justify the lower figure, and there is no countdown timer or invented scarcity.

Do you guarantee admission, a job or a visa?

No. Nobody can, and anyone who tells you otherwise is either lying or relying on a clause further down the contract that you have not read yet. Admission is decided by a university. A job offer is decided by an employer. A visa is decided by a government. A test score is decided by an examiner or an algorithm. None of those four decisions is ours to make. What we commit to is a written scope, a realistic assessment of your chances before you pay, a file prepared properly, and the truth when the answer is that you are not ready.

What happens if my visa is refused?

We read the refusal letter with you and tell you plainly whether the reason is fixable, and whether the mistake was in the file we helped you prepare. If the refusal was caused by an error we made in your documentation, we redo the file at no charge. That is written into the refund and scope policy, not just said on a call. If the refusal was caused by something outside the file, such as a change in policy, a credibility finding at interview or a fact about your profile that we told you about in the written assessment, the fee stands. We will tell you honestly whether reapplying is worth it, including when the answer is no.

Question 10

Will you tell me if I am not a good candidate?

Yes, and we will tell you before you pay us anything. The free assessment ends in a written note with our honest read on your chances. Some of those notes say that the route you want is not realistic this year, and what would have to change. We would rather lose the fee than take money for an application we expect to fail.

What is your success rate?

Accepted Answer

We do not publish one, and you should treat any consultancy that does with some suspicion unless they also publish the sample size and the definition behind it. A success rate is trivially manipulated by choosing who you take on. Turn away every borderline applicant and the number looks excellent. We would rather be judged on the free written assessment, which you can read, check against the official source, and take to anyone else for a second opinion before you pay us anything.

Question 12

Why are there no reviews or testimonials on this site?

Because we only publish reviews from named people who have agreed to be named, and we will not post anything we cannot stand behind if you asked us to verify it. Testimonials are the easiest thing on any website to manufacture, which is precisely why they persuade nobody who is paying attention. Read the sample assessments and the refund policy instead. Both tell you more about how a company behaves than a five star quote does.

Question 13

What actually happens on the free assessment call?

Thirty minutes on video. We ask about your education, your work history, your language levels, your savings and your timeline. We tell you which routes are open to you, which are not, and roughly what each would cost you in total, including the fees that do not come to us. Within two working days you get that in writing, including our read on your chances. There is no obligation to buy anything and we will not call you repeatedly afterwards.

Who will I actually work with?

The people on the team page, by name. When you agree a scope, the document names the person responsible for your file. If that person changes, we tell you and say why.

What is the written scope document?

Accepted Answer

A one page document you receive before you pay. It lists what we will deliver, by when, what we will not do, what you have to do yourself, and what happens if either side does not hold up their end. It is the same content as the fee block on the service page, made specific to your case. Nothing gets added to the price later that is not on it.

Will you write my statement of purpose for me?

Accepted Answer

No. We coach you through drafts, we tell you what is weak and why, and we push you to be more specific. You write it. Universities are increasingly good at spotting statements written by consultants and by language models, and a statement that does not sound like you is a risk to your application, not a shortcut.

What do you do with my documents and personal data?

Accepted Answer

We store what we need to do the work, we do not sell it, and we do not pass it to universities, employers or agents without your instruction on each occasion. The privacy page sets out what we hold, for how long, and how to ask us to delete it.

Do you meet clients in person?

Accepted Answer

Everything runs online, on video, so that the service is identical whichever city you are in and so that the price does not carry the cost of an office you never visit.

Is language coaching online only?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Live online classes in small batches, not recorded videos you watch alone. Every class is also recorded and available to you for six months afterwards, so a missed class is not a lost class.

How big are the batches?

Accepted Answer

No more than 12 for the English tests and no more than 10 for German. Speaking practice does not work in a room of forty people.

Question 21

Which English test should I take?

Accepted Answer

It depends on who is going to read the score. Immigration authorities and universities each publish their own list of accepted tests, and those lists change. As a rough guide: IELTS is accepted almost everywhere, PTE suits people who prefer computer marking and a fast result, the Duolingo English Test is the cheapest and quickest but is not accepted everywhere, CELPIP is for Canada, and TOEFL is strong for the United States. Always check the current requirement on the university's or the government's own page before you book anything. We will help you check, and we will not tell you a test is accepted when we have not seen it in writing.

Can I join a language batch without a sales call?

Yes. Language coaching is the one part of the service you can buy directly. Pick the course, pick the batch, fill in the enrolment form and pay. If you are not sure which level you need, the German pages set out what each CEFR level is used for, and you can ask us on WhatsApp without booking anything.

Question 23

What if I miss classes because of work?

Accepted Answer

Every class is recorded and stays available to you for six months. Trainers hold a doubt clearing slot each week for people catching up. If you miss more than a third of a batch we will tell you honestly that you would be better off repeating it, and we will let you join the next batch at half price.

Question 24

Can I move to Germany without speaking German?

Accepted Answer

For some IT and engineering roles, yes, and there are English speaking workplaces in the larger cities. For healthcare, care work, the skilled trades and most client facing roles, no. Even where a job does not require German, everything outside the office does: the immigration office, the tax office, your landlord, your doctor. People who arrive without any German usually spend their first year fixing that.

Germany or Canada?

Germany tends to suit people who have a specific occupation in demand, are willing to learn the language, and want a route that can start without a job offer through the Opportunity Card. Canada tends to suit people with strong English, a degree that assesses well, and the patience for a points based system where the cut off moves and you may wait. The honest answer for your profile comes out of the assessment call, because it depends on your occupation, your age, your savings and how much time you have.

Are you licensed to give immigration advice?

For Canada and Australia, immigration advice and representation are regulated professions. Skillvelop provides documentation support, eligibility assessment against published criteria, and application preparation. We do not provide regulated immigration advice for those countries and we do not act as your representative. Where your case needs regulated advice, we will say so and tell you to instruct a licensed practitioner. We do not take a referral fee for that.

Question 27

I have already applied and it went wrong. Can you help?

Sometimes. Send us the refusal letter or the application before the assessment call and we will tell you whether the problem is fixable, whether reapplying makes sense, and whether you need a licensed practitioner rather than us. We do not handle appeals or judicial review.

Question 28

Can my spouse and children come with me?

Accepted Answer

Usually yes, though the route, the timing and the language requirement differ. In Germany a spouse often needs German at A1 for family reunification, and there are exemptions worth checking. Family documentation is included in the relevant packages where the fee block says so, and listed as excluded where it is not.
