What we hold, why we hold it, how long we keep it, and how to make us delete it.

Draft, pending legal review

This page is a plain language draft written to match the service described on this website. It has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer qualified in Indian law. Where it conflicts with your rights under Indian consumer law, the law applies and this page does not.

The short version

We collect what we need to do the work you asked for, and nothing else. We do not sell your data. We do not pass it to universities, employers or agents unless you tell us to, each time.

This website sets no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. That is why there is no cookie banner on it.

What we collect

When you fill in a form: your name, email address, phone number, current status, target country, service interest, timeline, and anything you write in the message field.

When you become a client: the documents your application needs. Depending on the route that can include educational transcripts and certificates, employment records and payslips, passport details, financial statements, police clearance certificates and medical documentation.

When you take a language course: attendance, submitted work, marks and feedback.

Automatically: our hosting provider records standard server logs, including IP addresses, for security and for the rate limit on the enquiry form. We do not build profiles from these.

Why we hold it

To answer your enquiry, to deliver the service you bought, to prepare and review your application documents, to teach and mark your coursework, to meet our own tax and accounting obligations, and to defend a claim if one is ever made.

We do not use your data for marketing beyond replying to what you asked, and we do not add you to a mailing list from an enquiry form.

Who else sees it

Only the named person handling your file, and any colleague they need to consult, both under confidentiality.

We use service providers to run the business: email delivery, file storage, video calls and website hosting. Some of them process data outside India. We use them only to deliver the service and they do not use your data for their own purposes.

We share your documents with a university, employer or government only when you instruct us to, and we ask each time rather than once at the start.

A list of the specific providers we use will be published here once they are confirmed.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not become clients: 12 months, then deleted.

Client files: for the duration of the engagement and 3 years afterwards, so that we can help if you reapply or if a question arises about work we did.

Financial records: as long as Indian tax law requires.

Course recordings and marked work: 6 months from the end of your batch.

You can ask us to delete anything earlier, and we will unless we are legally required to keep it.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct anything wrong, ask us to delete it, or withdraw consent to us processing it. Withdrawing consent may mean we can no longer deliver the service, and we will tell you if that is the case before acting on it.

Write to info@skillvelop.com and we will respond within 30 days, usually much sooner.

If you are not satisfied with how we handled your request, you can escalate it to the relevant data protection authority in India.

If you are in the UK or the European Economic Area (GDPR)

Where the UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies to you, Skillvelop Ventures Private Limited is the data controller for the information you send us through this website. You can reach us about any of this at info@skillvelop.com.

Our lawful bases

  • Consent (Article 6(1)(a)) for sending you an enquiry through a form or the chat assistant. You gave it by submitting, and you can withdraw it at any time by emailing us.
  • Contract (Article 6(1)(b)) for everything we do to prepare an assessment or deliver a service you have agreed a scope for.
  • Legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)) for keeping records of enquiries and correspondence, and for preventing abuse of our forms. We have weighed these against your rights and consider the impact minimal.
  • Legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c)) where Indian tax or company law requires us to keep transaction records.

Your rights under GDPR

You have the right to access your data, to have it corrected, to have it erased, to restrict or object to how we process it, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time without affecting processing already carried out. You also have the right not to be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing. We do not make any such decisions: every assessment on this site is written by a person.

To exercise any of these, email info@skillvelop.com. We will respond within one month, as GDPR requires, and we will not charge you for it.

International transfers

We are based in India, so if you are in the UK or the EEA your data is transferred outside your jurisdiction. India has not received an adequacy decision from the European Commission or the UK government. Where we make such a transfer we rely on your explicit consent, or on the transfer being necessary to perform a contract with you, and we apply the safeguards described under Security below.

Our email delivery provider processes enquiry data on our behalf under a data processing agreement. We do not transfer your data to any other third party without asking you first.

Complaints

If you think we have handled your data badly, tell us first and we will try to fix it. You also have the right to complain to a supervisory authority: the Information Commissioner's Office in the UK, or the data protection authority in your EEA member state.

If you are in India (DPDP Act 2023)

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 we are a data fiduciary and you are a data principal. We process your personal data for the purpose you gave it to us for, and for no other purpose.

You have the right to access a summary of the data we hold about you and how it is processed, to have it corrected or completed, to have it erased where it is no longer needed, to nominate another person to exercise your rights if you die or become incapacitated, and to a grievance redressal process.

Our grievance officer can be reached at info@skillvelop.com. We will acknowledge within 48 hours and respond substantively within 30 days.

You may withdraw consent at any time. Where you do, we will stop processing and delete the data unless we are required by law to keep it.

Security

Documents are stored in access controlled cloud storage, shared with you through a folder you also own. Access is limited to the people working on your file.

We will never ask you for a password, a one time passcode, or the login credentials to any government or university portal. If anyone claiming to be from Skillvelop asks you for those, it is not us.

If a breach ever affects your data, we will tell you and the relevant authority as the law requires, and we will tell you what was affected rather than describing it vaguely.

Cookies

This website sets no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies.

If you open the booking calendar, that is an embedded service from Cal.com, and it may set cookies of its own under its own privacy policy. It is loaded only when you scroll to it, and never on any other page.

If we ever add analytics, this section will be updated first and we will ask for consent before setting anything.

Children

Our services are for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you are under 18 and want to use our services, a parent or guardian should contact us on your behalf. Where an application involves a dependent child, we hold only what the application requires and only with the parent's instruction.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version appears here with a new date. For anything material we will also email current clients rather than relying on you to check. Ask us if anything here is unclear.

Questions about any of this go to info@skillvelop.com. Last updated 1 September 2026.
